His Hands for Haiti Child Sponsorship Program

Because of the extreme poverty in Haiti, and because there is no "free" education, most parents cannot afford to send their children to school.
His Hands for Haiti has helped to establish a sponsorship program through which you can sponsor a child in Haiti to help them attend school. $40.00 (US) TWICE per school year (September through June), will pay for one of these beautiful children to attend school. $40.00 twice per school year will provide them with a uniform, an education as well as a hot meal at school (in the schools that prepare a noon meal).
(For more information on which schools are able to prepare a noon meal, see the page for each community on the "Churches and Schools" page)
The opportunity to attend school is life-changing for these children. In some cases, the help the children receive at the school has saved their lives!
Sponsors receive a photo and personal information about the child they are helping including information about how to correspond with their child, if they choose to do so. Sponsors can choose the age and/or gender of the child they would like to sponsor and may continue to sponsor the same child from year to year, as long as the child remains in the program. 100% of the sponsorship payment goes directly to Haiti. None of it is used to cover the administrative expenses of this program here in the US.
Sponsoring a child in Haiti is truly a blessing not only to the child, but to the sponsor as well. Some sponsors have been able to join one of our mission teams traveling to Terrier Rouge and have experienced the joy of meeting their sponsored child!

Some simple Sponsorship math - $80.00 per year= $6.66 per month $1.54 cents per week 22 cents per day!
What our sponsors have to say about sponsoring with His Hands for Haiti
“Thank you for connecting me with the precious children I sponsor in Haiti. What a blessing is mine through the ways the program allows me to get to know and love each child and family.” – Beverly H., Texas
"Before agreeing to sponsor through His Hands for Haiti, I did a lot of research to assure myself that HH4H was legitimate. 100% of the sponsorship fees going to the children just sounded too good to be true. While my research proved it all to be legitimate it didn't reveal one important fact. The one thing that research didn't reveal was the personal touch that sponsors receive with HH4H. [The sponsorship coordinator] has personally met every child and can usually tell you a bit more than is printed on the web pages and there is such a genuine caring on her part [and the board members] for the sponsors as well as the Haitian children. If you'll make the effort to educate yourself on the Haitian way so you understand the culture of these children and then select a child that touches your heart, I doubt if you'll ever be disappointed. You'll learn for yourself the very deep bond that can happen with the HH4H leaders, the children involved, and with fellow sponsors. Please step out in faith and experience the HH4H way of caring" - Karen D., Washington State
"I have been a sponsor with HH4H for 2 years and I find the sponsorships very rewarding. I have received several letters from each child and I even received a gift from one of them. It was a hand embroidered cloth and a wooden plaque shaped like a fish. I was thrilled to receive it. The letters included the original plus an English translation. I am in the process of sponsoring a third child with this wonderful organization." – Dorothy H., Ontario
"I cannot describe the joy that I receive from sponsoring all of my Haitian children. I started with one, then two and so forth, and finally to the point that now I have twelve, and I cannot say that I am done yet. I love to surf the website and look at all the beautiful children’s faces and then suddenly one will catch my eye and I cannot rest until I add them to my His Hands for Haiti family...I had the opportunity to actually visit Haiti with [a] mission team...To actually see and hold my children is an experience that only brings tears to my eyes when I think of them. Each one is special, each one is truly part of my family and I cannot imagine life without them. I love the organization because of the personal connection I have with the other members and founders and even though I have been a sponsor with other organizations, I have to admit that this is my favorite...Each time a new child is sponsored I feel a personal connection to the fact that another life is going to change in a powerful way bringing hope to the future." – Deborah E.; New York
"My husband and I sponsor children through different organizations but I will never forget the feeling when we got our very first envelope with a photo of our sponsored girl from Africa. A 4 year old with big brown eyes in a muddy top and ripped flip flops instantly filled my heart with incredible joy. We were going to be able to help this child to get an education and keep her li'l tummy filled. It was instant bonding. When we realized how much we could accomplish by spending so little we soon found ourselves reaching out to others...Each of them has enriched our lives. It is so rewarding knowing what we are doing for them, and how we can help them through His Hands for Haiti and the other organizations we sponsor with, to have a better future. There is indeed a joy in giving." – Natasha S., Croatia
"We arrived in Terrier Rouge [on my first visit] in the late afternoon, and waiting at the house for us was a group of kids anxious to meet us. This one girl kept saying something over and over...so, knowing that there was a boy in the crowd that spoke English, I asked him what she was saying and he said 'She said she loves you!!!' 'Augh...'I said, as a piece of my heart melted...'What is your name?' I asked. She said, 'Merlange'. I said, 'Joseph?' and she nodded her head and I hugged her tight. The first words that my sponsored child said to me was that she loved me, even before she knew who I was." - Tammy P., Maine (sponsor of Merlange Joseph)
"I began sponsoring two children with His Hands for Haiti in August of 2007, I was initially drawn to the organization because of the reasonable sponsorship fees and the ability to write to the children at a Florida address. They make sponsorship accessible to even those of us with limited incomes. And although letters from the children are not guaranteed, I have had good luck and so far have received a warm letter and a drawing from each of my sponsored children. I have also been impressed by the quality of the yearly updates and photos of the children." - Elizabeth H., Tennessee
"When my office colleague told me that she had something wonderful to share with me, I was curious, yet skeptical about sponsoring children and not knowing if the funds will indeed go to the kids. Nevertheless, she invited me to browse through the website of His Hands for Haiti and assured me that everything is 100% legitimate. Convinced, I rushed to my office to access the website and ...I started looking at all the kid’s photos and suddenly one of them caught my eye. Upon reading the caption...I told my friend that this is the family that I would like to sponsor – all three brothers...It was truly an incredible moment when the envelope of the kid’s photos arrived on my desk and that day, both my friend and I were exchanging photos and joyfully claiming the kids as our 'children'. My sincere and profound appreciation goes to [this] organization, for enabling me to touch the lives of the three brothers – a tiny drop in the ocean, but nevertheless, a truly heartfelt experience – there is indeed joy in giving." – Jenny N., Malaysia.
